1891. Gio Ponti was born. Famous designer and "universal" architect from Milan. Founder of Domus in 1928, he organized the 5th Triennale in Milan, and was a supporter of the Compasso d'Oro award. Ranging from scenic designs for theatres to chairs, from kitchen tools to ocean liners' interiors, from Pirelli skyscraper to lamps, Gio Ponti is a catalyst figure of pure innovation. He died in 1979 in Milan.
Founded in 1960, Artemide is one of the world's most famous lighting makers. Today it is synonym of innovation and Italian design tradition.
