Wood is becoming increasingly popular thanks to the Wick chair proposed by the brand Design House Stockholm. On the one hand it is rooted in the folk tradition and on the other one it is entirely projected into the present and the future. From the prestigious Swedish brand Design House Stockholm comes the new chair of the Wick collection. Design House Stockholm leaves wide creative freedom to its collaborators, allowing the best minds in the industry to indulge themselves in new ideas. The Wick collection is a joint project by Karl Malmvall and Jesper Ståhl, authors of a seemingly singular choice, which proves to be very elegant and valid: starting from the traditional wooden baskets that consist of a variable number of large twisted wooden strips. This particular Swedish craft tradition is the basis from which the two designers have been inspired to create the seat of the Wick chair, made with professional veneers of ash or oak wood. The veneer, that is the "millwork" of wood with thin sheets of other more valuable and flexible wood, is the basic procedure that has allowed Malmvall and Ståhl to proceed with the camber and bind of thick slats that make up the frame of the Wick chair, a constructive choice that also enables a very reduced use of the typical carpenter's glue. Its design, including the legs in chromed steel, make this chair perfectly suitable for any space, be it a private home or an office or professional studio. On the contrary of plastic, which is particularly subject to changes due to external temperatures, wood is more comfortable both in hot summer and during the rigid winter. The chair has a size of 57x50.5 centimeters, an height of 75 centimeters and a weight of 4.3 kg. Wick is very handy, a feature further enhanced by the possibility of stacking up to 3 chairs, which can be stored in a small space. It can also be an excellent gift idea to enrich the home or the garden.
