Bas Vellekoop (1985) is a Dutch product designer. He started his design studio BAS VELLEKOOP in 2010 and is based in The Hague. In his work, Bas Vellekoop strives for honest and authentic designs. His label is known for its simplicity in detailing and construction. The construction is visible and forms an essential part of the design. His designs he makes from the intrinsic motivation to make his living environment more pleasant: "From an early age I am already looking critically at my surroundings. Already with the thought: how would I make this myself? "Bas Vellekoop graduated in 2010 from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. After his studies he started his own studio, currently with a focus on product design. Various designs of BAS VELLEKOOP have been successfully put into production, such as the Fold and Stringer tables and the Quintus and Hexa lighting. The designs are housed at BAS VELLEKOOP and at international brands such as Puik, Lonc and Odesi.
