Cathy Nordstrom
Cathy Nordstrom lives in a green suburb on an island, 10 min outside Stockholm with her husband and their three children. Her home, nearby a nature preserve, is surrounded by woods. She lives in the heart of nature and in turn draws it. Previously a graphic designer, she felt the call of drawing and decided to set up her studio to devote herself to it. In her workshop, a former warehouse that she renovated to give it some soul, she creates beautiful patterns: pretty prints under the influence of Scandinavian design. Her style is minimalist, and her colour palette varies by project. Nature is omnipresent in each of her creations. She loves floral prints, design, architecture, fashion, interior design... Touching a fabric can make her heart beat. Lots of samples sorted into piles by colour litter her studio floor. Sonia Delaunay, Ruth Ansel, Märta Maas-Fjetterström and Astrid Sampe... Are all artists whose work she admires.
