After receiving their Masters degrees from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, designers Kathrine Lønstad and Cosmin Cioroiu moved to the Norwegian city of Kapp. The couple transformed a former dairy into their workspace, establishing a design studio where they could develop projects for manufacturers or create products for the Noidoi brand. Their decision to be surrounded by nature reflected a mandate to work with natural materials, craft techniques and organic shapes, as well as the couple’s determination to make products that appeal to the senses. Noidoi’s studio is often described as a cultural crossroads, where Cosmin’s Romanian heritage meets Kathrine’s Nordic sensibilities and inspires a wide range of products for Norwegian consumers and manufacturers abroad. Unique in style and global in appeal, it’s easy to see why Noidoi are beginning to find a foothold in international markets.
