Chiara LED table lamp by Flos

Chiara is the iconic table lamp by Mario Bellini, one of the best known and most identifying Italian architects both nationally and internationally. He has received the Compasso d'Oro Award eight times and 25 of his works are in the permanent design collection of the MoMA in New York, which dedicated a personal retrospective to him in 1987. Chiara was born in 1969 in her floor version, she introduces herself immediately as innovative as it is made from a single flat "sheet" of stainless steel folded back on itself. Fifty years later Flos reissues Chiara in the table version and realizing it in aluminum. As explained by Bellini himself, Chiara was born from the observation of light and how it spreads in the surrounding environment, never directed and often hidden by the clouds or reflected by the objects themselves. The first "prototype" of Chiara is born from a simple cardboard cut out and folded: a cylinder that acts as a base with a wide-brimmed hat that instead takes on the role of a reflector. Chiara is then finished on the edges by a contrasting tpu gasket.
