Created in the 60s yet still relevant: Viscontea is a signature pendant lamp that combines luxury and innovation. Experimentation, research of new materials and a brilliant idea: these are the main ingredients of the recipe from which the Visconti pendant lamp took shape. This elegant pendant lamp, made in 1960 by the pure genius of brothers Achille and Piergiorgio Castiglioni, Flos collaborators since its beginnings, it comes from the magic and the desire for beauty that was prevalent in Italy for many years after the Second World War. And is the war that inspired the material from which it was made: a special resin, called Cocoon, which was once the protective lining of the tanks against moisture and hail, becoming an innovative material with which we can create objects for everyday use. Still used today for the continuous reissues of the timeless pendant lamp, this resin is composed of volatile plastic polymers and has the consistency of a transparent powder. It is splashed over with white painted steel, which constitutes Visconti’s structure, instantly solidifying and enhancing the original wavy shape of the lamp shade. The result is an exclusive pendant lamp, capable of carrying a refined and graceful image in every context. Its white colour milky and its sinuous shapes and dynamics give the atmosphere a sophisticated note, which is accompanied by warm and soft light that spreads, wrapping every centimetre of the surrounding space in splendour. Exclusive not only in the material and processing techniques, this hanging fixture also surprises in the uniqueness of its appearance: The shade has a unique shape, which lends itself in stimulating the imagination or memories, depending on who’s looking at it, it might be reminiscent of a hot air balloon, a precious diamond, or a rare shell. Whatever the interpretation given to the fascinating Visconti pendant lamp, its presence is ideal for enhancing luxurious decor contexts or adding a detail of great value to the simplest environments. Majestic (with a 400-cm long cable) yet sober, it does not go unnoticed and it alone can refine the image of domestic living rooms, as well as the most important location of shops, boutiques and local public establishments. Info: bulbs not included; recommended: 1 x MAX 100W E27 HSGS or 1 LED 21W E27 2450lm 3000K.
