GOODS

Established in 1995, this company offers a wide range of home accessories and small furniture by Dutch designers, ranging from international household names to young designers who are just beginning. Many of the Goods products are part of important international museum collections, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Goods is a production company of objects for the home, born in Holland in 1995. The whole production of this company comes from ideas of various Dutch designers and other European countries, some of which date back many years ago and could become true objects thanks to the birth of Goods. Some objects produced by this company have received prizes and awards of various types and are exposed in some of the most important museums of contemporary art and design in the world. The objects produced today by Goods are created from ideas of the '70s and' 80s, but also from proposals of contemporary designers. The company's vision is to produce everyday useful objects, like bottles, glasses or vases for the home; but an item that bears the mark Goods must also and above all be surprising. Those who in the house have a piece of Goods furniture knows that it will be used daily and when guests arrive at their home, the object will quickly become the focus of everyone's attention. The products are altogether common useful objects, but definitely very unique, and would not go unnoticed. In addition to this, the Goods products are made with raw material that are environmentally sustainable and innovative. Some projects are particularly emblematic of the corporate vision of Goods, such as cloth superheroes dolls. They are born from an idea of Alexa Lixfeld, who wanted to start a business in Sri Lanka to improve life in some areas of the country. The dolls are born from the drawings of local children whose parents are now working in the company that produces the cloths with which the Goods dolls are made. So the company does not only design but also attempt to make this world better, where possible. Some of the pieces produced by Goods are now already classics, such as the Crushed glasses and cups, which seem to be articles made from wrinkled plastic before being thrown away; not only are they famous, but they have already been copied several times. Another famous object is bottle Grape, available in various shapes and sizes, it redesigns the concept of the wine stand, making it a real piece of furniture, not just a useful piece of furniture. All Goods products are distinctive, making them protagonists of the space in which they are placed.
