Lithea

An Italian brand of interior design. Lithea is a company founded in 2008 by Patrizia Furnari in collaboration with MG FURNARI, a historic Italian company with half a century of experience in the processing of stone materials. The philosophy of Lithea can be summed up in one sentence: "The sensitive shapes of stone"; after more than sixty years of experience in the processing of stone materials, the brand reinvents the face of stone making it become a very contemporary materials. Everyday objects are manufactured with strong materials such as Carrara marble and become small artistic stone sculptures to exhibit in our homes.

The expert processing of stone reveals sensitive and delicate forms, creating elements in continuous transformation, furnishing objects with a strong personality and absolutely unique features. Litheàs mission is to pursue the aim of cultivating the testing of new techniques and forms, while at the same time encouraging Italian craftsmanship, without departing from the obvious standard logic in the production and distribution of its products throughout the world. After so many years in the sector of stone materials, Lithea has decided to open the doors also to the field of design, collaborating with internationally renowned designer to make some exceptional changes in the processing of stone, in terms of design vision, technological innovation, production and finishing.

A new and innovative vision of a professional and productive path imagined by a leading company in its field which has collected many successes in the past years. Production technologies, in particular, make use of numerical control of the material blocks, and after computerized processes it follows the manual reworking of the products entrusted to the incredible talent of the most skilled craftsmen. What really makes Lithea a visionary and innovative brand, is its incredible project to turn stone into a new contemporary material, perfect for creating accessories for daily use that emanate style and elegance from every angle.

Extraordinary design objects were born from stone processing, such as the Semicolon tasting kit, made entirely of Etna Basalt and composed of two elements: a circular cutting board and a cylindrical glacette. The comfortable gacette can be placed directly in the freezer to maintain the temperature of wine, once served at the table. The cutting board instead can be used as an elegant tray to accompany the wine tasting with some finger-food. Stone is a natural material from the earth, irregular, imperfect, unique, charming and never repetitive. Stone interpreted as an element of time and memory.
Lithea, through the patient use of old manual techniques and thanks to the surprising use of new chemical and mechanical technologies, transforms these archaic artifacts and materials in architecture and design elements, characterized by amazing shapes and surfaces, while keeping to their intrinsic nature.
