Angelo Micheli e Philippe Nigro

Angelo Micheli graduated in Architecture in Milan in 1985 and in Industrial Design at Politecnico di Design in Milan in 1984. In 1986 he took part in the I Nuovi 12 Memphis group and in 1986 he was one of the founders of Solid group. From 1988 to 1998 he was part of Studio De Lucchi where he dealt with Industrial Design projects, Retail, Service Design, Corporate Identity and Packaging, Interior Design Corporation, Exhibitions and Architecture installations. His activity went on with the partnership with Michele De Lucchi where he dealt with projects for Telecom, Piaggio, Novartis, Fondazione Venezia, Fondazione Cini, Enel, Enelpower, Edipower, Mondadori, Mandarina Duck, Martinelli Luce, Ras, Rheavendors, Tuttoespresso, Solzi Luce, Unifor. His commitment is also in the pure artistic research to which he dedicated much of his time because he strongly believes in the dream of the sign. Teacher for some years at IED and professor at IUAV university in Venice since 2000. Philippe Nigro studied applied arts in France. Since 1999 he has been freelance designer and partner at De Lucchi studio in-Milan where he took part in many design projects: products, furniture, lamps, interior, scenic design and installations for companies like Olivetti, Poltrona Frau, Artemide, Alias, Caimi, Interni, Feg, Listone Giordano. At the same time he developed projects on sofa, armchairs and installations for Nube Italia, Felicerossi, NavaDesign. In 2008 he won with M. Biffi the 2° prize at Autogrill contest to create reastaurant accessible to everybody. In 2005 some of his research projects were supported by VIA, that allowed him to realize his Spiral shelf, Cross-Unit container system, Interesection sofas, Twin-chairs and the base for table Universal Base, that was later produced by Ligne Roset under the name of T.U. (the last two products mentioned became part of the permanent collection of Beaubourg). In 2009 Intersection sofas marked the beginning of his partnership with Ligne Roset, which produced, under the name of Confluences, a wide collection of sofas, armchairs and small sofas, that became part of the French FNAC collection, with which he won the Young & Design Contest in 2009 and the Red Dot Best of the Best in 2009. For Roset he also designed his Flax armchair and Inséparables pouf. With Piba Marmi he developed his Saturnia bathroom fixture and stone seats; for Skitsch he created his Triangolazioni tables, Squilibri shelf and Build Up cardboard chairs and tables for children.
