Graduated at University of Arts of Tokyo in 1962, one year later he moved to Italy where he opened his studio in 1968 in Milan. In 1982 he started an experimental project, founding the brand MH WAY. The company, still active today, is one of the rare examples of successful "design company". His projects obtained prestigious prizes and awards such as “Compasso
d’oro”, “Macef”, “Triennale”, “Smau”, “Bio” ,“Design plus”, “Design Preis”, “Design Innovation”, and are still protagonists of exhibitions and permanent shows in many museum of the world, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York.
