Born and raised in Japan, Moé studied architecture in Tokyo before transferring to the School of Industrial Design at Lund University in Sweden. She finished her Masters in 2012 and joined the Umbra design team in the same fall. Her student works have been chosen for iF Concept Award 2011, the student version of prestigious iF Design Award, as well as finalist of Young Swedish Designer’s Award (Ung Svensk Design) in 2012. Moé finds inspirations in her personal experiences and multicultural background. She admires the simplicity in design, and intends to solve small problems while keeping the product experience light, fun and engaging.
