Nipa Doshi was born in Bombay in 1971 to a Gujarati family. In 1997 he was in London, where he graduated from the Royal College of Art and where he returned after a short period spent in India to work with some craftsmen. Here he meets Jonathan Levien, born in Scotland, who has recently completed a master's degree at the Royal College. The synergy between Nipa and Jonathan works immediately: in fact in 2000 they create their own studio and get married. Together they develop a particular and innovative design concept that brings together two distinct and complementary approaches to the work: Nipa, strongly rooted in Indian culture, and Jonathan, started on the design of industrial design, celebrate together a cultural hybrid that synthesizes technology, narration, industrial design and artisanal.
