Rosita Missoni
Rosita Missoni was born in 1931 in Golasecca, in the province of Varese, from a family of textile entrepreneurs specialized in the production of embroidered dressing gowns and shawls. In 1953 he married Ottavio Missoni and together they developed a knitwear business in a small workshop in Gallarate. The taste and inspiration of Ottavio and Rosita give life to small knitwear collections, experimenting with never before seen processes and color combinations, creating an unmistakable style. The first fashion show in 1966 at the Teatro Gerolamo in Milan was a great success thanks to the presentation of a collection that broke the traditional patterns in the use of the shirt. Missoni dresses give life to a new graphic interpretation in clothing: zigzags, stripes, waves and slub threads with geometric and floral patchwork; it is the put together that seduces the most sophisticated Italian and foreign customers. Missoni today is among the representatives of the excellence of Italian fashion and design in the world.
