Tord Boontje
Tord Boontje is known for his expression of romance in contemporary design. Some of his designs are extravagant and ironic, but they are capable of arousing strong emotions. Originally from the Netherlands, Boontje studied at the Academy of Design in Eindhoven and later at the Royal College of Art in London, before founding Studio Tord Boontje. Established in 1996, the studio has collaborated with international companies on a variety of products such as lamps, graphic identities, textiles, ceramics, in situ installations and furniture pieces. His work is exhibited in major international collections such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MoMA in New York. At Shoreditch, the studio conceives, creates and launches new collections. This creative and independent working method acts as a stimulus to existing relationships and creates new ones.
