Valia Barriello is a Milan-based architect and designer. She completes her architectural works with a constant research on democratic design, a theme she analysed during her PhD in Industrial Design. She also writes for a number of design-related publications. At the Triennale in Milan she curated "Recupero. Artwo dentro e fuori le mura", an exhibition of objects born from a cooperation between designers and convicts. She was assistant to designer Paolo Ulian at the NABA institute in Milan. She currently cooperates with a Milan-based architecture studio and edits the design column on Artribune.
