Almendra is the modular system of Flos, a leading brand in the lighting sector, which boasts excellence in the world of design and collaborations with the best known and most famous Italian and international designers. Flos is a brand that speaks for itself, teaches research, quality and attention to detail. Flos is in fact among the brands that can boast the most authoritative awards worldwide such as the Compasso d'Oro ADI award. Patricia Urquiola signs for Flos Almendra, the collection of suspension lamps inspired by the almond tree, for shapes and colors, of which she also remembers the name. Ambitious project both for the style and for the materials chosen, a perfect balance between poetry and sustainability. Light and delicate, Almendra is characterized by its "petals" or the luminous units that compose it. Each petal can assume up to 6 different positions, rotate in steps of 60 °, creating a game of symmetries and the ability to customize the direction of the light. The light units are made of aluminum and CNC, a special polycarbonate deriving from a by-product of paper production, and embellished with matt or metallic finishes. The structure, on which the petals rotate, is available in linear, arched and organic form. Almendra Linear is therefore the suspension lamp where the structure is horizontal and all the light sources are placed on the same level, for a maximum of 6 petals. In the case of Almendra Arch the lamp has slightly curved ends at the bottom and two light sources. Finally, the organic form is the newest and most original, it takes, as already mentioned, a cue from the branches of the trees to be therefore curved and with only one of the ends with two lights (SY) or arriving at 3 lights, where the other is also extremity has a petal (S3). The Almendra structure is made of aluminum tubing and finished in the same finish as the petals. Metal canopy. The product has been designed according to ISCC standards and is assembled in the total absence of glued components, so that it can be completely separated for future recyclability. This demonstrates Flos' considerable attention to sustainability, a fundamental and highly appreciated issue by customers. Almendra Arch is a sophisticated arch that bends downwards and in which two luminous petals are placed in the extreme part. There are two possibilities: Arch Short and Arch Long; the difference lies in the space that separates the light units: 115.2 cm for Arch Short and 130.6 cm for Arch Long. A more enclosed or more extended brightness, a further customization offered by Flos in addition to the rotation of the same light. Almendra Arch is an innovative and original suspension lamp, suitable for formal situations as well as for domestic and relaxed environments.
