Skynest S suspension lamp by Flos

The irreverent and poetic design language of Marcel Wanders Studio finds a new expression in Skynest, his latest design creation for Flos. The Skynest suspension lamp is an exercise in perfect balance between elegance, technique and innovation. The light of Skynest comes from the same woven structure, LED strips in fact blend with the fabric tube to create a shape similar to an overturned artisan basket, much more sophisticated. Skynest takes Marcel Wanders Studio in a new direction, enriching his humanistic and poetic approach with a new world of innovation, sustainability and technology. Light is one of the sectors with the fastest evolution, Marcel Wanders Studio creates something strongly new where the light source, integrating with the structure, almost disappears making everything more magical and less physical. The Skynest pendant lamp by Flos illuminates at 360 degrees, without casting shadows, but only a perfect and highly calibrated light. Each single light element is powered by special microconnectors placed in the upper part of the dome and is covered by a two-color mesh, while the side facing the inside of the dome is always white to allow optimal emission of the LED light. Flos has always paid attention to the green aspect of its works, Skynest is completely recyclable, each piece can be removed, each LED arm is connected with a USB connection and a small electro-welded fitting that fits into the central aluminum disc. If you need to change a thread, you can replace it and re-attach it to the aluminum ring structure of the dome through a simple interlocking system. The glue-free assembly makes the parts replacement and disposal process effective. Flos gives lightness to its lamp, the weight of the materials is minimal, after all they are cords of recycled and recyclable fabric produced in polyester intertwined with LED light sticks! The luminaire is equipped with a balancing system integrated in the upper part of the dome which helps to regulate the balance, making it perfectly stable. Available in different colors.
