Patricia Urquiola creates for Glas Italia the series of Shimmer mirrors characterized by the geometric decoration and the wonderful iridescent multi-colored finish. The family of Shimmer mirrors, in extralight glass, is made up of floor and wall versions with shapes and diameters of different sizes. Here we describe the Shimmer floor mirror with a particular design. Placed on the ground by means of a shaped base, it then takes on the appearance of an oval mirror 180 cm high. Original and distinctive is the finish that stands out as a prominent element in Shimmer, here sophisticated processing techniques are integrated and blend to obtain a sloping shaded mirror, from the light blue shade of the base to a peach pink in the central part. The overall result is impressive, the Glas Italia mirror has a magical and bewitching aspect in continuous evolution depending on the ray of light that hits it and from the point of observation.
