The Cabernet cork cap uses the exceptional qualities of nature to preserve water and wine. The Cabernet cork cap is an essential accessory by the popular brand Holmegaard. This cap is made of pure cork and perfectly suits the Cabernet water decanter. Maintaining unchanged the quality of the content was the main challenge the designer Peter Svarrer wanted to win: to do so, he thought to make the cap in a ductile material such as cork, characterised by its countless properties. In fact, cork is an environmentally friendly material, completely natural that is obtained by a tree belonging to the fagacee family, spread throughout the western Mediterranean. Its internal structure is a dense network formed by cellulose, wax, water and other substances, a regular pattern of cells arranged in superposed layers. The particular lightness of this material resides in the air trapped in the cells, thus allowing an incredible insulating capacity (both from the thermal and the acoustic point of view). The Cabernet cork stopper is therefore, by virtue of these features, quite invulnerable to mold thanks to its good permeability. The cap is completely non-toxic, hypoallergenic, fire resistant and will last over time but, being 100% natural, it is completely biodegradable. The water you will pour into the jug will be absolutely safe, thanks to this cap. The choice of cork as material for the Cabernet cap follows the Danish Modernism tradition, which combines utmost functionality with design, both classic and contemporary. The Cabernet cork is an ergonomic object precious but at the same time capable of using the natural elasticity that nature attributed to this particular type of wood, a material to be always used for the production of caps for wine bottles. Information: not dishwasher safe.
