Smiley is the cutest little bobblehead doll with a funny spirit. Designed by Hoptimist, this little figure will bring joy, happiness and colours to your home - bringing a ray of sunshine wherever it goes! Smiley also provides a great gift idea if somebody you know is going throgh a rough time or needs some cheering up. Everyone will be in awe of the uplifting power of this small bobblehead made from plastic! Hoptimist are extremely proud that the Hoptimists are part of the great Danish design family today: From Kay Bojesen’s monkey to the PH lamp. What all the family members have in common is that their design lasts. The family relaunched the Hoptimist in 2009, and today the figures are hopping around again in Denmark and in the rest of the world. When it further develops the design, we does so in the spirit of Hans Gustav Ehrenreich, the man that designed the first Hoptimists back in the 1950s, setting the baseline for the later production. And that means producing the Hoptimists in Denmark and remaining true to Ehrenreich’s vision. His basic idea was to draw the Hoptimists using a circle and an ellipse, and the classic and the new generation of figures are based on this idea. Finishes, colours and materials have been updated as opposed to the original version by Hans Gustav Ehrenreich, and yet the spirit remains unchanged. Smiley awaits in 3 beautiful colour options - yellow, red and violet - and in a smaller version, if possible even cuter than he is. Baby Smiley goes hand in hand with other miniature figurines by Hoptimist, such as Baby Bimble, Baby Bumble, Bride and Groom. The Hoptimist family also includes other full-size dolls such as Bimble and Bumble. Discover them all at LOVEThESIGN!

Hans Gustav Ehrenreich trained as a cabinetmaker. In 1950 he opened his own workshop Ehrenreichs Traekunst and in 1968 he designed his first famous spring figure - the Birdie, in 1969 followed by Bimble Bumble and in 1971 by Kvak - the Frog. The figures were a huge success in the 1970s. Since 2009, Lotte and Bo Steffenson have started production of the popular classic again. They were immediately a success.
