Yiannis Ghikas was born in Athens in Greece. With his background he embraces the passion for information technology that goes further, up to Design, through which he uses functionality as the ultimate goal of his designs, while exploring possible emotional responses. Conceives Design as a process of satisfying both material and immaterial needs. His "Monarchia" stool received the "red dot design" award (2009). He has collaborated with companies such as Feld (Belgium), Objekten (Belgium), Miniforms (Italy), Convesso (Greece), the Industrial Gas Museum / Athens. His work has been exhibited internationally.

Miniform's style is close to the idea of a sober house, with authentic materials and in respect of the environment. Shapes and colours are essential, lines are clean and primary. Materials range from solid wood to sheet steel, glass and aluminium in an eco-friendly vision.
