4 Romantic Christmas Traditions from All Over the World

Markets, lights, surprises: the magic of Christmas is equally engaging in every corner of the world.

People in each country have their own happiness rituals, both for couples and singles. These are our favourites.

POLAND

During the Christmas Eve dinner, people would place a few straws underneath a table cloth and then, in turns, each of them removes a piece. Green stands for luck or even marriage, yellow another year as single.

JAPAN

Christmas is something seriuously romantic. Couples would go out for a candlelight dinner, with a menu based on fried chicken.

GREENLAND

Christmas Eve is the only day when married women can relax: husbands would carry out their every need, including a dinner based on whale meat.
