The Nomad Chair is inspired by the legendary Roorkhee Chair, which was originally made for British military officers stationed in India and later reworked by Scandinavian designers Kaare Klint and Arne Norell. The Nomad Chair is a true field chair and can be assembled or dissembled in a matter of seconds, making it highly portable and perfect for the modern nomadic lifestyle. The furniture parts are made from turned bamboo, which gives a lightweight, exceptionally strong and very comfortable chair. Delivered in a flat package, final assembly done at home. We Do Wood does its best to reduce the carbon footprint of its all the way from the bamboo plantation to the final owner of its products. This is why this Swedish design company has chosen to design furniture in the material moso bamboo, because it is one of the most sustainable natural resources the world has. The soil quality in bamboo plantations is continually improved and soil erosion is prevented by the root system. This helps retain more water inland without drainage into the nearby river or lake. Furthermore, bamboo plants prevent water pollution through its high nitrogen consumption. Besides, no potentially harmful substances are used to manufacture any of the furnishing pieces belonging to the collection by We Do Wood.
