It’s the first interior design fair of the year, which reveals the trends that are predicted to be big in 2018: you have to be there.
At IMM Cologne no type of space is overlooked: from the home to the office, many different styles and requirements converge and show their personality. Here, you’ll be able to find the best on the design scene, whether you’re looking for something basic or a luxurious piece.
Last year, vintage design made a comeback and we rejoiced in wooden furniture, not to mention the fact that plants invaded our homes – especially cacti – and accessories: the motto for 2017 was to infuse the home with your own personal style. What surprises will this edition prepare for us?

This year, Formex will be inspired by the art world. In fact, the main theme of the 2018 edition, A World of Shapes will be directly inspired by David Hockney’s aesthetic sense and colour palette.
The Formex Event Manager Christina Olsson explains the year’s theme to us:
These ideas will be expressed in the silhouettes and the colours of both the furniture and the accessories, presented by over 900 exhibitors who will animate the leading fair for Scandinavian design.

This Parisian fair never takes a break, on the contrary: in 2018 it will include two new areas dedicated to the world’s textiles. But don’t worry, the three main sections that have contributed to its fame won’t slide into the background.
Maison focuses on interior décor, and it’s split into different styles such as: elegant, cosy and eclectic. Whereas, Influences is where luxury, design and architecture come together.
Object is the largest area, where you'll meet more than 1000 exhibitors. It displays handmade products and this year you’ll be able to purchase them directly from the manufacturer in certain sections: Cook&Share, Home&Fashion Accessories and Smart Gifts.
Are you wondering who was nominated as the designer of the year for this wintertime edition? We can tell you: it’s Cecilie Manz. A danish designer with a great sensibility for organic shapes and materials, she's worked with Fritz Hansen, Duravit and Muuto, among the others.

It’s time to return to Stockholm, this time for Furniture & Light, the Scandinavian lighting design and furniture fair.
The Italian architect and designer Paola Navone has been chosen as the star of the 2018 edition. She has also had the task of designing a special installation for the fair:
You need one more good reason to go to Furniture & Light? Well, you should know that every year the fair holds talks and conferences with top international designers, including both established designers and emerging talents.
This year, we won't miss the Colours & Trends 2019 talk for sure. Yes, you got it right, 2019: Stockholm doesn't waste any time!

The new edition of Ambiente, the first fair in Frankfurt, will focus on four main trends, all different.
Modest regenerations combines industrial style with the warm rustic features: concrete, bamboo and steel don’t automatically rule one another out.
Colourful intentions will focuson patterns and bright colours, as well as ethical design and recycled materials.
Technological emotions will focus on experimenting with combining two materials together: paper and linen, metal and glass.
Nothing will be too eccentric however for Opulent narrations, a space devoted to creativity and splendour.
