The Italian company began its activity in 1981, and its first collections of lamps are designed by Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiato that in 1988 acquired the brand.
The lighting is turned into a fundamental element of interior design, becoming emotional and giving new sensory experiences. This is the founding principle that characterizes all products by Foscarini.A brand that makes use of important collaborations with national and international designers, always trying to offer a wide range of models all characterized by the most ground-breaking technologies and modern forms.
Among the style icons that have made the success of the brand there is Lumiere, the lamp originated from the creativity of Rudolf Donders: it is characterized by a blown glass diffuser available in different colours, and by the structure made of polished aluminium. Or the Orbital model, made of industrial glass that is the first creation in terms of lamps designed by Ferruccio Laviani.
The lacquered metal supports the plates in various shapes in silkscreen-printed glass, available in several colours. The exclusive complement entered design history, so much so that it is exhibited in several museums, such as the renowned New York's MoMA.
A long series of successes continues with the series Mite/Tite/Kite, signed by Marc Sadler. The design opens up new horizons, thanks to the union of glass fibre to Kevlar or carbon wire, becoming an essential decorative element. Lamps that use their entire surface, emanating an extremely sophisticated brightness. The lines have been awarded with the renowned Golden Compass. Patricia Urquiola and Eliana Gerotto gave life to Caboche, a contemporary and elegant review of the classic crystal chandelier.
A valuable complement that takes its inspiration from a bracelet, matching sophisticated materials designed to renew and redefine the illumination of a particular environment. The blown glass creates intense luminous refractions, together with the polymethylmethacrylate spheres. The catalogue also includes the model Twiggy, the dynamic and stylish floor lamp designed by Marc Sadler, while Ludovica and Roberto Palomba play with the soft lines of Gregg.
The matter does not conform to classic geometry, turning into modular, dynamic and ethereal forms thanks to the skilful craftsmanship of mouth-blown glass.Floor lamps, wall lamps, pendants or table lamps: there are many solutions and ideas that Foscarini proposes to decorate your home. Complements that exceed their function to become true works of contemporary art. The versatility of each model, signed by great designers, makes them able to decorate homes with a modern style adding an original touch even in the most classic ones. Like the discreet and original elegance of Tress, another creation by Marc Sadler.
The line resembles the weaving of ancient baskets, renewing itself through the use of modern materials which offer very suggestive luminous intensity. Tress is made of a composite material and lacquered glass fibre; it can be customized in three different colours. The Guggenheim Museum of New York, inspired with its architecture Vicente Garcia Jimenez, who turns its shapes into Le Soleil: a pendant with plastic volumes reflecting a soft and yet expressive light, accentuating its typical refractions.
Not to mention the latest news, like Kurage, designed by the Nichetto and Nendo that recalls the typical form of a jellyfish. A light table lamp made of ash wood sticks, while the diffuser is made of washi paper, typically Japanese and strictly handmade. The haze of the Venetian lagoon is captured by the new pendant Caigo, designed by Marco Zito, which is characterized by its exclusive and special diffuser. Gem and Tartan by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba are two blown glass lamps which are similar to each othnoner but different in several details.
Gem is a closed sphere decorated with wavy and geometric patterns. Tartan takes its name from the eponymous fabric that is evoked in the open spherical diffuser surface, allowing a harmonious contrast between the direct beam and the glass walls.Foscarini is a point of reference in the production of Made in Italy lamps that guarantees high-quality standards and proposes different and original ideas for interior lighting. The industrial design is conjugated to planning, which is always enriched by new elements, giving new interpretations of liveability.
A versatile company that is also interested in publishing: in fact it launched the magazine Lux in 2002, and six years later it was the turn of Inventory, that became the new challenge for Foscarini. A new format that is neither a book nor a magazine and opens a new perspective on contemporary art and design scene. The project won the 23rd edition of the Compasso d'Oro ADI, in 2014. The importance of the brand is also confirmed by its direct participation as an official sponsor of the Biennale di Venezia.
The entrepreneurial experimentation of this brand continues with the realization of the Home Collection project, in partnership with the internationally renowned fashion brand Diesel. The exploration of new areas diversifies Foscarini's creativity, constantly renewing its proposals and technologies.
Moreover, the production and all the individual processing steps of Foscarini's lamps are guaranteed by certifications of environmental quality and of the company system. Not to mention the fundamental and precious appearance of the valuable raw materials. A company that always in step with the times, able to leave ample space to design, offering sophisticated lamps curated in every single detail. The unique, elegant and original style of this brand's products enriches the decor of your home, transforming the lighting in an element that makes any room cosy and dynamic.
