Taraxacum 88 S2 pendant lamp: when creative genius transforms the charms of nature into a cult lighting fixture. Who doesn’t remember those flowers on which children would blow to make all the transparent petals fly away? It is precisely by them that the Taraxacum 88 pendant lamp is inspired. It reproduces them in a decorative suspension with great charm and stunning brightness. Also known as "dandelion", these flowers that we blow on are actually shoots of the dandelion plant. Used since ancient times as a healing remedy, this plant, whose Latin name, Taraxacum in fact means "remedy for confusion", was chosen by award-winning designer Achille Castigioni to give life to his iconic pendant lamp. Its round shape (diameter: 105 cm) brings together 20 triangular elements made of aluminium and finished with a shining chrome. The triangles, in addition to constituting the structure of the pendant lamp, are the basis of the Globolux halogen bulbs that cover the entire surface and that, in this model called S2, count to 120. An explosion of light for a vaporous sculpture that enhances the environment as a brilliant lighting fixture that’s to capture attention and captivate. Made in this aluminium version in 1988, the suspension is the modern nephew of its predecessor that was designed in 1960. Produced by Flos, it is still an undisputed star in living rooms, kitchens and entrances in large, open spaces such as lofts or important banquet facilities and events. Although its history is long, its look is ever modern: simple and unique at the same time, equipped with a one-of-a-kind scenic impact and ideal in illuminating contemporary contexts or those with a more classic flavour. The peculiarity of its construction can also unite the delicacy of an image that recalls joyous soap bubbles, with the strength and effectiveness of intense illumination due to the mirror effect of the Chrome aluminium, which directs the amplifying light beam in many directions. The splendour of the Taraxacum 88 pendant lamp steals the show over any other light source in a room: It is a triumph of light but does not lose its charm even when it’s turned off. Info: bulbs not included; recommended: 120 x MAX 28W E27 HSGSG or 120 LED 3/5W E27 2500K
