Fest AmsterdamThe origin of the Fest Amsterdam brandThe furniture brand Fest Amsterdam could at a first glance be confused with one of the many musical events that take place around Europe especially during the summer. Actually, this home-shopping store born in the world-famous Dutch capital, has very little to do with music and festivals, but is not very far from the festive and convivial atmosphere that you can find in those events. Even the first part of its name, "FEST", seems to suggest this interpretation. But the truth is that the word FEST is an acronym for the name of the two founders: FEmke and STeven, and it could not be more appropriate for the range of colourful and playful products designed and sold by the company! The second part of the name, however, does not require many interpretations: the company started its activities in Amsterdam, precisely in Roelof Hartstraat 74, but we cannot guarantee that it will remain here, considering its great worldwide success and the market demand!
A short but intense historyThis young company was founded in 2009 thanks to the common purposes of the brother and sister Steven and Femke. After travelling through many countries in Asia, visiting various factories and as many exhibitions, they decide to start this successful adventure at the end of 2012 with the desire to launch a line for the house including different accessories. The company opened and established on the market in 2013 thanks to an idea of Femke Furnée that when he could not find an affordable solution to furnish her home, decided to create it herself!
The values leadning Fest AmsterdamIt is thanks to Femke Furnèe's personal research to find well-designed furniture that could represent her but sold at affordable prices, that Fest Amsterdam was born, with its slogan "festive furnishings to love and use." Because this is the goal of the manufacturer: to propose interior design items that make us happy when we own and use them! And considering the sofa line, for example, you have to admit that the goal was successfully achieved. The two brothers have often said about their activity and mission: "Your house reveals who you are and how you look at your life. It is a place where we should feel safe and free to be exactly who we are... We should live it as a reflection of our identity. It is precisely to meet these ideals and allow a complete identification between the owner of the house and its decoration that we are constantly looking for new products to keep our catalogue varied and updated. Our goal is to put together the sale of furniture and accessories for the house and to make you happy."Here is a range of products (pillows, rugs, sofas, chandeliers, vases, armchairs, chairs and much more) created with the only purpose to make us satisfied and happy to come home after a long day of work... does it seem a trivial matter?
Fest Amsterdam's approachThe young brand, born from an idea of a solar and creative woman and her (no less original) brother in one of the most controversial and lively European capitals, produces items characterized by a fresh touch and explosive colours, that well match the typical Dutch design. The creative process behind the collections is certainly inspired by the city of birth of the two founders: its architecture, its art, its fashion as well as its people. But it also presents a pleasant Scandinavian influence. The materials used are natural and elegant, like wood, jute and bamboo wisely combined with porcelain, ceramics and stained glass.Fest Amsterdam is proud to present every new creation, and is not afraid of looking for new partnerships to enrich its offer: for example with Floris Hovers and Kvadrat textile productions.
This unique and explosive mix of ingredients translates into fun home accessories that are fizzy, pop and extremely colourful. All collections have a wide choice of types and colours, because customizing the domestic space without any restriction is important, but even more important is to have modern objects that you will never bore you. Precisely for this reason, if on one side the brand follows the latest trends by exploring new styles and looking for an innovative design, on the other every creative choice is always oriented towards the search for models that are comfortable and last over time (two of the priorities of the company).
In fact, Fest Amsterdam wants you to have something very special and personal in your home, something that is about you and your life, but above all it wants that piece of you to be loved today as much as tomorrow, with no limits.
CuriosityThe purpose of this Dutch interior design company has not gone unnoticed even beyond national borders; after all... who would not want to taste happiness just sitting on a couch or opening the front door? This is how, for example, Fest Amsterdam has earned a place in the prestigious Paris exhibition held in September 2014, the Maison & Objet. Here a part of their collection has found a place and recognition, which includes vases, cushions, bowls and candle holders with a contemporary design, bringing in the French city the typical pastel colours combined with the most vivid and eccentric tints. In order to have an idea of the quality and uniqueness of Fest Amsterdam's products to make your house festive and original, you do not need to buy a ticket and go to an exhibition in Paris or Amsterdam…even though perhaps it is worth the cost of the flight! So... now the question is: why are you still waiting to be happy at home? Fest Amsterdam: furniture to use and love, for a fest in your own home!
