Ramun
The new light the world has never seen. The LED lamp Amuleto created in the name of good luck is the most important item of the Ramun brand. It was designed by one of the greatest designers of the world: Alessandro Mendini, who is also Ramun's art director. A lamp designed to fulfill the dreams of his little grandson, a masterpiece of timeless design: Amuleto is the flagship product of this company and it was designed by Alessandro Mendini to wish health and good luck to his dear grandson. A lighting accessory that ideally contains the whole universe, including in its structure three circles recalling the triad of the sun, moon and earth.

This lamp is a real "lucky charm" characterized by a line of rings similar to the call of the angels, marked by a unique joint system patented by Ramun that allows the light to position and direct itself towards any point with the greatest precision. This joint system with no visible wires and protruding springs, amplifies the beauty of the lamp and, thanks to its design, it can also be moved by the touch of a kid's finger. A further proof of the safety and genius of this magnificent piece of design is that Amuleto has been tested by some eye care centers in university hospitals, in order to study its relationship with the non-emission of ultraviolet and infrared rays, to obtain an optimal design for the eye.

Every aspect of Ramun, from the design to the site, from marketing to brand showroom, is curated in every detail by the Atelier Mendini. A refined design with a functionality that is almost revolutionary and a particular attention to the impact of light on the eye and to eco-sustainability are the hallmarks of the company founded by Alessandro Mendini. Together with Amuleto, Ramun launches another lighting icon: the table lamp Campanello which is not just a point of light, but also becomes an auditory decoration to be placed on any shelf. Thanks to the dimmer function, a light touch of the upper tactile button will make Campanello sound (5 different sounds to choose) and activate its light. The dimmer function allows the light to remain on for 30 seconds - 1 minute - 5 minutes - 1 hour - 3 hours - 24 hours, at your choice.

Campanello is a unique object of its kind, designed primarily for bars and restaurants, to draw the attention of the waiter. A decorative and playful item at the same time, involving the guests in a sort of performance and transforming their mealtime in a unique and fun experience. On your table, Campanello can recreate the pleasant atmosphere of a candlelight. Campanello sounds' were created by Marinelli, the master of Italian bells as well and official supplier of the Vatican.

Alessandro Mendini
Mendini was born in Milan in 1931 and he attended the Politecnico in the same city, obtaining a degree in architecture. He was chief editor of the magazines Casabella, Modo and Domus, and currently he is an honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts Bezalel in Jerusalem and works with well-known companies such as Cartier, Bisazza, Zanotta, Venini, Alessi, Swarovsky and Hermes. He is also a consultant to various companies in Europe and the Far East, for which he deals with the setting of image and design. In 1979, in 1981 and in 2014 he was awarded with the Compasso d'Oro design award. He was also appointed Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in France, and he received the award from the Architectural League of New York and an honorary degree at the Politecnico of Milan and at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, France. Also, he is honorary professor of the Academic Council of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, China. Many of his works are exhibited in various museums and private collections.
With Branzi and Sottsass and with the presence in Global Tools and Radical Design, Mendini is the main theorist and promoter of Italian design renewal in the eighties. In the late seventies he felt again the urge to draw and design. Then, in 1979, he joined the Studio Alchimia, the radical design group that in the eighties has subverted functional design together with the Memphis group, aiming at creating objects for the pure artistic pleasure, with references to pop culture and kitsch.

Alessandro Mendini is one of the most respected architects-designers and theoreticians of the world; for many years before starting his career as a designer, he was chief editor of several prestigious architectural magazines, which have helped to make Italian design renowned all over the world. Mendini's concept of design is completely new and constantly related to the Italian industry. He began his career as a designer that he was already in his 50s, precisely in 1989, when together with his brother Francesco opened in Milan the first "Atelier Mendini".

The two brothers designed together the Paradise Tower, the monument for the Port of Hiroshima, the Groninger Museum, the bus-stop station in Hanover, the theater of Arezzo, the Forum of Omegna, the Mendini Gallery in Lörrach, the Neubau Medienzentrum of Hanover, the Cultural civic center/Library in Lovere and, in 2011, they inaugurated Bovisatech: the first work of Alessandro and Francesco Mendini for their hometown. Even in mature age, you can define Mendini as an emerging designer who, with his young style young and revolutionary experiments, took very little to attract international attention.
And so the collaborations began with companies such as Alessi, for which Mendini presented in 1983 a collection that became a huge success: the Tea & Coffee Piazza and Alessi's best-seller, the corkscrew Anna G. These items that soon became the most popular products of the company and they also entered the history of contemporary design. Alessandro Mendini has a versatile personality; a man who as a child wanted to do the "vignettaro", and whose style was inspired by the masters of metaphysical art and Czech cubism and that today has left a piece of his creative genius in almost every corner of the world.
