Max Lamb (born in 1980) is a British designer who loves to combine traditional, if not ancestral, design methods with contemporary design. It is known for using a singular approach in the use of natural materials, such as casting pewter in sand or using volcanic rock. With the Wiggle project he created for Bitossi Ceramiche he developed a new production technique using an old tool, cutting clay plates with an iron wire and building box-shaped containers with the use of cut slabs. The spiral thread creates a wavy surface which is then enriched and underlined by the glazes.
